"Missing" the 12-hour project.

The challenge is to create an original short film within 12-hours based on two general requirements. The race committee handed the theme of  “A secret” and the visual action of “washing hands” at 12:00am. Our goal was to turn in a quality DVD to the race staff with time to spare.

Immediately, the writer pitches two ideas to the producers and the locations are set. The preliminary planned locations were not consistent with the story. The backup plan had considered this and a SMS communication with the address of the new local went out to the crew and talent. Robert Larkin the writer was given the storyline decision, sent into seclusion, and dove into his writing responsibilities. Meanwhile, the executive staff reviewed the project plan to adjust for the new details. Then as the Writer finished pages, we started storyboarding and setting the scene. Production started with Lights, Camera operators, Actors, Grips, Producers, and Editors, all working simultaneously to complete each scene with the utmost urgency.

An hour before the deadline the crew was getting restless, while the post production staff quickly edited and consolidated the footage. The Producers were pacing trying to see what camera angles and footage were in the actual 5 minutes of film. This resulted in the completion and submission of the movie on-time.

The entire staff was seemless in every aspect and not only traversed the rigors of a 12-hour race but also were rewarded with several awards. Enjoy this 5 minute short film about things "Missing" and know that it was created in 12 hours, on time, and a very small budget.

"Missing" earned 2nd place "Audience Award" in a voting competition with 26 other participants.(Also earned :Best Cinematography, Best Soundtrack, Best Editing)
